Our Vanishing Trails Expeditions re-trace trails originated by Native Americans, further blazed by intrepid explorers and trappers, and followed by pioneers seeking a better way of life out West. Capture the excitement of the great westward migrations of the mid 19th century and explore the impact of “Manifest Destiny” on Indian civilization, wildlife and wilderness. Relive the excitement of that expansionist era: meet a tribal elder in his own home or relish the sights and sounds of a traditional Native American pow wow. Ride horseback across the open prairie; thrill to the excitement of a wild west rodeo; retrace the paths of pioneer covered wagons and see the actual ruts which have survived more than a century of sun, wind and weather.
Our National Parks programs go beyond astounding natural wonders and scenic beauty to include the rich cultural heritage of these national treasures. Our tour directors are trained to provide the insights to the sights: Who lived here first? Why did they disappear? Is the wildlife of this area endangered? Why is Lake Powell so low? They also encourage enlightening discussions among participants so that everyone comes away from their travel experience with a deeper appreciation of what they have just seen and explored.
Civil War Tours In honor of the 150th anniversary of America’s Civil War (2011-2015), Shebby Lee Tours is offering a roster of the very best commemorative programs, including battlefield reenactments, living history and recommended reading lists.
