Tour Itinerary:

Day 1 – Airport transfers.  Travel.   Enjoy an Oregon Trail campfire cookout in the shadow of Chimney Rock. Sing songs around the campfire and reflect on the spirit of the pioneers who passed this way 150 years ago. Overnight:  Scottsbluff, NE. (L, D)

Day 2 – Today tour Fort Robinson, a strategically located military and Indian agency during the Plains Indian Wars and visit  Mammoth Site National Natural Landmark.  This evening view the awe-inspiring lighting ceremony at Mount Rushmore. Overnight:  Rapid City, SD. (CB)

Day 3 – Today visit the iconic Mount Rushmore and the still-unfinished Crazy Horse Monument.  Enjoy a ride through scenic Custer State Park where buffalo and other wildlife still roam free.  Dinner at the State Game Lodge, Summer White House to two US Presidents. Overnight: Rapid City. (B, D)

Day 4 – Today travel across the picturesque Big Horn Mountains en route to the western town of Cody, named for the famous Wild West Showman. Optional Nightly Rodeo. Overnight:  Cody. (B)

Day 5 – This morning we’ll visit Buffalo Bill Cody Museum then enter Yellowstone National Park,  for our first of two days.  View serene mountain lakes, mud volcanoes, awesome waterfalls and the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone. Overnight: West Yellowstone, MT. (CB)

Day 6 – Today’s  Yellowstone highlights are the Firehole River, Fountain Paint Pots, and Old Faithful plus the Grand Tetons.   Tonight we board horse-drawn covered wagons for an old west chuckwagon barbecue. (CB, D)

Day 7 – Today’s highlight is a spectacularly scenic Snake River float trip.  We’ll also visit the Colter Bay Indian Center and have free time for shopping in Jackson’s exclusive boutiques, antique shops and art galleries. (B)

Day  – Today we’ll re-cross the Continental Divide and visit the Territorial Prison once home to the Sundance Kid and other desperados. Overnight: Laramie, WY. (B)

Day 9 – Today travel scenic Trail Ridge Road in Rocky Mountain National Park, visit the quaint town of  Estes Park  and enjoy a festive farewell dinner.  Overnight:  Denver  (CB, D)
